US Foxtrot 2024 Tour blog 1 - Sun, Clouds and Stormy Music - March 2024
As soon as Jo and I flew in to join our team in Florida ahead of the USA tour, there were three days of rehearsal in Tampa before the first show in Jacksonville... Both Jacksonville and Clearwater shows went off like a rocket and it felt great to play three special numbers from my new album as well as classic songs from the past and the whole of Foxtrot!
We were glad of a day off after that, when we headed for a wildlife reserve with pals Mark, Ian, Martin and Jacqueline. The birds, trees and plants were wonderfully exotic, and the highlight of the walk was the sight of an alligator close by in the lake. The primeval faces of those reptiles and the way they glide through the water never fails to fascinate!
The Orlando gig had a terrific crowd reaction, as did the Pompano Beach show, where many people were on their feet by the end of Supper's Ready...
It felt great to get away from the winter chill of the UK... We had plenty of cloud and rain, but Florida was as warm as ever and the sun was always a welcome sight!
With many thanks to Mark and Ian, and as always to Adrian and the team. Now looking forward to the Cruise To The Edge!
