UK Tour blog 2 - Butresses, Battlements and Basements - October 2024
The tour has continued to go down a storm. The shows in Liverpool, Cardiff, Guildford, Stoke, York and Nottingham had fantastic crowd reactions and the band's playing was totally terrific! Every show burst into life from the word "Go"!
It's always great to return to Liverpool, and appropriately the night we played there was John Lennon's birthday. Somehow, it felt as if his spirit was with us...
Cardiff was as lively as ever. Jo and I enjoyed walking beside those old castle walls with their impressive battlements.
We were thrilled to have an extra day in York, where there is so much to see and doâ?¦ This time we visited the Minster with its flying buttresses above and spooky crypt below, which includes the terrifying hell depicting "Doomstone". We also found the Bath House Inn, beneath which are ruins of an ancient Roman bath... Walking through the Shambles was great fun, with its link to Harry Potter as well as its Medieval past, and we had a delicious evening meal with pals Bryan and Livvy Josh in the reputedly haunted and really atmospheric Guy Fawkes pub. Guy Fawkes (who plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament) was born in this place.
Now in Glasgow, looking forward to performing the Glasgow show... Great to be back here in Scotland!
So far this tour has been a wonderful experience with a fabulous vibe in every place!
