It was thrilling to return to Loreley, high above the cliffs of the Rhine in Germany. We drove for some time along the Rhine valley where those fairytale castles cling to the rocks, before ascending past old timber framed houses through thick forest towards the festival site.
Although Genesis music will be a major part of the autumn tour with our new Genesis Classics set, this was the last Genesis Revisited gig, and it felt like a huge celebration of that show with a fantastic crowd of around 4000 people all cheering and joining in the songs... The band were on great form and enjoyed every minute!
It was good to hear the other acts play too. Steve Rothery's band sounded terrific... A joy as well to connect with so many pals.
Loreley has a magic of its own and lends itself perfectly to the Night of the Prog festival spirit. Many thanks to Winfried Volklein for making it all possible, and as always my thanks to Brian Coles, the band and all our team.
