Quebec - Fairytale city

A day to wander in Quebec

Taking in the view
I always remembered Quebec as a special place, but this time it was more extraordinary than ever, shining like a jewel in the sunlight and bursting with life in the festive spirit. The whole place was throbbing with the rhythm of drums and the strains of musical phrases carried across the breeze...
Luckily we all arrived in good time on our day off, so we were able to spend a few hours explorng the city. Parades down the streets, fire-eaters, exotic dancers and music everywhere all brought to mind the New Orleans Mardi Gras. Colonised by the French in the early 1600s, Quebec's old buildings and its joie de vivre create a European atmosphere, and the underlying Native culture adds to the variety and vibrancy.
It was fantastic for us all to be a part of Quebec's Summer City Festival. The park and surrounding streets around the stage we were on were heaving with ten thousand listeners. The amazing outdoor crowd blew us away... What a spectacular finale to our electric tour. We were all thrilled. It was one of the most memorable gigs I've ever experienced.
