On arrival in Seattle, Jo and I were treated to lovely home cooking with our friends Helen and Bill.

The following day, pals Christopher, Karen and Nicolas took us to visit celebrated glass artist Dale Chihuly in his extraordinary workshop, where guys were working as a team to create beautiful works of art with molten glass from red hot ovens. It was an honour to meet Dale, who greeted us warmly. Then we were shown through a doorway into the magical world of his fascinating personal collection. The many objects involved his exceptional glass sculptures, free standing, hanging and encased in a corridor ceiling... They even included colourful forms within a bath and a swimming pool...

One of the walls in Dale's collection was lined with photographs of indigenous people from the nineteenth century. I've noticed how much Seattle respects this culture, with its museum items and free standing totem poles... We returned to the waterfront that evening for a meal with Helen and Bill in a restaurant reminiscent of a longhouse and decked out with a fantastic array of Native American art and sculpture from the region. The whole day was a wonderful feast for the eyes and senses...

I felt a strong quickening of the spirit as we played to another extraordinarily appreciative crowd. Thank you Seattle for being such a high point on this incredible tour...
