Travelling towards the Mid West, forested hills gave way to a gently rolling agricultural landscape, where you could occasionally see an Amish cart passing by...

Directly on arrival in Cleveland, we headed for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. The guys there had invited a group of us along, as I'd been inducted into the Hall of Fame with Genesis in 2010. The place is impressive... Great displays of many things from massive sequinned platform shoes to Pete Townsend's smashed guitar... interactive info zones and chances for kids and adults alike to try out an array of instruments.

The gig that night was packed and wild in the venue featured in Spinal Tap. Indeed, we very nearly did get lost in that strange labyrinthine Masonic backstage zone!

Then on to Grand Rapids, where we had a terrific crowd reception with the band playing like demons. What a vibe! It was great to hook up with fabulous drummer Nick D'Virgilio and his wife Tiffany there too.

We travelled around the bottom part of Lake Michigan to reach Milwaukee in time for another show at the lovely Pabst Theatre, where the atmosphere remained as powerful as ever between band and audience. Chicago was totally on fire with palpable excitement from the crowd...

Passing forests, rocky crags and deep blue lakes, we drove on to Minneapolis. Jo and I had a fab lunch there with pals the following day on a beautiful island in the Mississippi. The show then thundered into the night...

So now off to Seattle for the West Coast and Wild West leg of the tour.
