Cruise to the unbelizeable edge!

I've been away for about ten days now. Following two whirlwind promo days in New York where we also had a great time at the Cutting Room event, Jo and I travelled on to Tampa, Florida to join the band and crew for a fourth Cruise to the Edge...

The cruise was as enjoyable as ever, playing to many appreciative people on both the first night and the last. Jonas Reingold, our new bass player is a terrific new addition to the band. I felt we were all on top form...

It was also a joy to do a Q&A with Roger Dean - such an intelligent thinker as well as a fabulous artist. For my own Q&A I invited my wife Jo to join me, as she is a great support and we work closely together on many things. It was good to meet fans, either just walking around the boat or via the photo and signing sessions.

Connecting with fellow artists was a real joy. It feels like we're all one big family... I very much enjoyed doing a guest spot for Dave Kerzner and joining the tribute on stage for John Wetton, such a talented artist who I'll always miss as an incredibly special friend.

We did get a brief break! Two days into the cruise at the furthest point, Jo and I with some pals joined an excursion in Belize involving a speed boat ride up river and across a lagoon to Mayan ruins in the midst of the jungle. There, amidst the greenery replete with the chatter of exotic birds and scampering monkeys we saw some amazing pyramid-like structures and other buildings which had once formed an important Mayan settlement. This really was a journey to the edge of a remarkable semi-forgotten world...

Following a brief lunch the following day in the Costa Maya region of Mexico, we returned to the ship again for the journey back to Tampa.

This incredible voyage was a great way to kick off our North to South America tour. Next stop - Quebec!
