Waves and wuthering - February 2017

About to set sail

Steve playing at the first show
It felt thrilling to be back on the Cruise to the Edge again, this time on the beautiful ship Brilliance of the Seas.
Wonderful to catch up with friends, including amongst many, Steve Rothery, the Yes guys and Phil Erhardt of Kansas who I hadn't seen since working with him and Steve Walsh on my album Please Don't Touch in the late seventies! It was also great to meet so many fans - wonderful opportunity for us all to connect...
The only sadness was the loss of two special pals Chris Squire and John Wetton, who had I had spent a lot of time with on the two previous cruises. I had been very much looking forward to connecting with John again on this cruise and I missed him in a big way. I dedicated Afterglow to him at the shows.
On the middle day we visited the Mexican island of Cozumel. Along with some pals, Jo and I took a jeep ride to the most remote part of the island on a particularly rocky road through jungle, past an ancient Mayan lighthouse to a deserted beach...
Then back to the wonderful boat. Both gigs went incredibly well and the crowds were amazing.
My thanks to Larry Morand, Mike London and everyone who made the cruise possible.
Now preparing for the first show of the North American tour...
