Whirlwind week! - October 12

Steve and Jo with German SAT1 TV presenters

Haunted staircase, Moresby Hall
This last week has been extraordinary, kicking off with the release of Genesis Revisited II and the launch party...
The following day I travelled up to Manchester with my publicist Sharon Chevin and Jo for the BBC Breakfast TV show. It was great to talk about the new release and to play guitar as well.
Then at the crack of dawn on Thursday Jo and I set off for Berlin, where I did several interviews on both days, including Rolling Stone magazine and SAT1 morning TV show where I also played Horizons and Blood on the Rooftops intro.
What an extraordinary place Berlin is! European publicist Peter Klapproth who took care of us there kindly showed us around the city and explained that in the old days young people didn't have to do conscription if they lived in West Berlin, so the place developed a real creative slant with the input of unconventional youngsters. It certainly retains that dynamic atmosphere today. There is some tremendous graffiti, the East Side Gallery on the remaining piece of the Berlin Wall - a great monument to the breaking of the chains. Berlin has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of a turbulent past...
We arrived back from Berlin on Friday evening, and then set off for Cumbria first thing the following morning! After an eight hour drive with Ben Fenner at the wheel, we arrived at the most extraordinary place in the middle of windswept wild scenery between the Lake District and the sea. Moresby Hall where we stayed was reputed to be haunted, particularly by ghosts on the staircase... It was wonderful to join Francis Dunnery and friends for a fabulous charity show that evening. There was a tremendous welcome and we enjoyed every minute.
Now back in London the interviews continue... It is an amazing time, and I'm thrilled at the chart position of the album. My thanks to everyone who has made this all possible.
