Marshall memories - April 12
All my guitar heroes of the sixties used Marshall amps. Anyone who owned a Les Paul guitar and a Jim Marshall amp had already made it in my book. Jim built the pillars of rock's temple. Nothing screamed like a Marshall amp. Those primal sounds were essential to the development of music at its most powerful. I still use those amps today. On stage they give the extra reassurance for guitars to explode into life.
Though I never met Jim Marshall personally, I'm well aware of the impact his inventiveness had on all of us. I'm sure in Heaven they're cranking it up to eleven to pipe in the king of the storming cabinets. We'll all carry the flame for you Jim in our every riff...
