From rehearsals to Holland - October 09

Leaving Dover harbour

A life on the ocean wave

Steve on stage in Zoetermeer
Back together again for four days beneath the rattle of trains in a dark corner of Putney, the band and I emerged into the light with a new set - brand new tracks blended with old favourites from both my solo stuff and Genesis.
As the White Cliffs of Dover receded into the haze, the merry ferry took us nautical nomads across the Channel to the pleasure grounds of mainland Europe. The Magical Mystery Brian Coles-mobile then sped everyone from our Zeebrugge landing to Zoetermeer in Holland, the scene of the first two shows of our tour.
Zoetermeer welcomed us with the Golden Tulip Hotel's primal African sculptures and a fun venue with windows like crazy paving. The first two gigs there kicked off the brand new set with a great start as the walls buckled under the onslaught of sound pressure.
Roger, Rob, Nick, Gary and I will send you our messages as we loquaciously blog our way through Europe...
