Following the two cruises, Jo and I have stayed in in the States to take a break before leaping into all the big tour prep...

From sunny Miami to snowy Arizona, we travelled through all kinds of weather! Our fabulous pals Leigh and Franck took us up to Sedona, which we'd experienced before in the heat... It now looked like a fairy winter wonderland! Always magic in all seasons. Then we continued further north to the phenomenal Grand Canyon. It was colder than we expected, but so amazing that we were totally awestruck. It's one of the most incredible sights in the world. We stayed there and travelled around the South Rim as far as the fascinating tower designed by Mary Coulter in the style of a Hopi watchtower and built largely by local Hopi people.

We then hightailed it south early as road gates were being shut and a gigantic snowstorm was heading towards the Canyon! It felt as if we were being chased by some dark monster as we followed the light sky ahead with the black skies spreading southwards from behind... Leigh drove us all to the safety of Phoenix in time!

Whilst in Phoenix, we visited the special musical instrument museum MIM. It has the most comprehensive collection of instruments from around the world that I have ever seen. It also includes a terrific range of electric guitars with fascinating videos. Well worth a visit!

A big thank you to Leigh and Franck!

Now off to Hawaii for the second part of our break...
