The "Din Machine" Part II - The Last Overdub - June 09

Anthony Phillips

Once again I've become a proud father of... a new album!

Just when I thought I was putting the final bits of detail on a very long check list, Anthony Phillips dropped by and immediately started playing gorgeous twelve-string, thus fulfilling my long held ambition to see what the two of us might sound like together. Have a listen here! Let me tell you, I felt like it really added that sparkling finish to the golden icing on our freshly baked cake... Even Roger smiled!

The best moment in any new album is in its closing stages, where all the wildest ideas you've had (like wayward children)
eventually become fully formed personalities.

Even Roger smiled...

Even Roger smiled...

I so much want you all to hear this right now, but it'll take a while for me to press up a few and get my red coat and reindeers together, along with the plans of all the chimneys I’ll need to get down, elves permitting of course... With a bit of luck though the moment of truth will happen well before Christmas!

There’s been a band of brothers and sisters involved, in more ways than one on the new record. Brother Roger King, Brother John Hackett, Brother Nick Beggs... this is sounding like a holy order of monks! Chris Squire, Anthony Phillips, Rob Townsend, Amanda and Jo Lehmann, Lauren King, Dick Driver, Christine Townsend and Ferenc Kovacs. To everyone involved, thank you once again for being tireless troupers and above all for being great friends.

And just one more snippet...
