Latin America blog 2 -  Peruvian Parties and Magnificent Monuments

Peru has an wonderfully spiritual atmosphere which always draws us in, with its compelling combination of Inca and Spanish culture… and we had the most fabulous welcome from our host, Alberto Menacho as soon as we arrived at the airport, replete with buggy and special offers of food and drink. He gave us all the most amazing time, from drinks and food at his place to a final delicious celebratory meal at an extraordinary restaurant set within the precinct of the “huaca”, a huge ancient pre Inca temple. Jo and I always find this place totally intriguing…

Dánae from Alberto’s team kindly showed us around the charming, characterful old part of Lima, including the beautiful cathedral. It still spookily holds the bones of Pizarro, who took the land over from the Inca people. But their culture and music still shines through…

Everything in Lima felt special. The gig in the beautiful old Teatro Municipal de Lima was a great success, as the Genetics boys in the band along with myself felt the magic kick in with our playing and the crowd were incredible!

Many thanks to Alberto and his team for such a fantastic time, and we always look forward to returning!

My thanks to the Genetics guys too, as well as Brian, Fecundo, Daniel and Entourage Talent.
The next show will be Rio, Brazil…
