Memories of Machu Picchu

Desert mountain beyond Lima
Wonderful mystical Peru!
There was an air of excitement as we flew into Lima airport... Peru is always an amazing experience. From the moment Jo and I set eyes on magical Cusco and Machu Picchu a couple of years back, influencing my recent Night Siren song "Inca Terra", we fell in love with that country.
Welcomed by promotor Alberto Menacho and his team, we all immediately felt at home. The gig had a fantastic crowd reaction. It was great to play with my band there for the first time...
Alberto's team continued to take care of us over the next two days. I enjoyed doing a fun Q&A on the morning after the show, followed by a fabulous lunch in a beautiful restaurant situated in the middle of a large ancient pre-Inca ruin.
The next day Jo, Nad, Jonas and I were taken up to a high point just outside Lima to see the city and sea panorama. It was fascinating to realise that Lima which is full of tropical trees and verdant green parks is actually situated in a desert. So we climbed an arid mountainside to reach this spot. An extraordinary contrast!
We then drove down to a restaurant on the beach amidst the palms under a blue sky... It was idyllic!
That evening Alberto kindly invited our whole team over to his apartment for a meal. A terrific way to end such a special stay in Peru. A very big thank you to Alberto, Luciana, Danitse and all the team for an unforgettable show and stay, and we hope to return as soon as possible!
Now on to Brazil...
